Next Social - Wednesday 7pm - Uplands Tavern Quiz - ALL WELCOME
The next social will be Wednesday. We'll be meeting outside Fulton House at 7pm before walking up to the Uplands Tavern for some drinks and the pub quiz.
NEXT WALK - Port Eynon to Rhossili - Sunday, March 10th
Since the bus didn't turn up last time, we're running this walk again! This walk takes in some of the most scenic parts of the Gower. A coastal hike, it passes Culver Hole, caves and the beaches of Fall Bay and Mewslade before finishing in Rhossili. If the weather is right, then the sunset from Rhossili Beach or Worm's Head is spectacular. See below for some previous photos of this route.

Last Hike's Recap
Our last hike was in the Brecon Beacons and took in Fan Hir and Bannau Sir Gaer. The highest point on the hike was Fan Brycheiniog (802m) and is visible off to the left of the panorama below. The photo was taken on Fan Hir. To give some sense of scale, there is a bit of land sticking out into the lake, the black dot is a couple having lunch!
As you can see, we had glorious sunshine all day, although there was a haze off in the distance which blocked the views a little. We also came across lots of frozen ice formations and patches of snow. The walk was one of the hardest in our walk calender, being 18.1km long with 939m of ascent and descent. We came across several groups of wild horses, and nearly persuaded a shetland pony to join us...

Pickups for day hikes are: 9am Uplands (outside Sainsburys), 9:05am Student Village (at the bus stop on the main road, opposite Carvery) and 9:15am outside Fulton House. Please remember to bring the hiking basics of food, drink, waterproof jacket, warm layers etc on all day hikes. We aim to return to Swansea by 7-8pm.
We have walk sign-ups every Wednesday and Friday 12:30-1:30pm on the Coffee side of JCs. Come along and join us, they're also perfect for mini-socials!
