Welcome to the Hiking Club website, where you can find information on all our activities. On the walking side of the things, we'll hire a suitable sized coach and go off exploring the countryside every weekend during term time. There are also extended trips during the easter and summer vacations to more distant locations. A complete list of the walks planned can be found here.
No club would be complete without the social side, so we also plan additional social gatherings (apart from the hikes!) usually on a tuesday or wednesday. Activities range from meals, bowling to short night hikes in fancy dress on halloween. Running around the hillside dressed as V or a ghoul can be very funny! A complete list of the socials is here. The major event of the social calendar is the christmas dinner. A chance for us to meet each other in our finery instead of shorts or waterproof jackets. Some of us even smarten up quite nicely.
You can Join the Club or Sign Up for the Saturday/Sunday walks in JC's (coffee side) every Wednesday and Friday between 12:30 & 1:30pm.
Alternatively, if you miss a sign up you can always phone or email us.

Welcome Back!
Hello to our new members and welcome back to our returning members. All of us in the hiking committee are happy to see you and are hoping you’re as excited for a new year of walks and socials as we are.
For those returning members who saw us at freshers fayre you’ll have noticed that there have been many changes over this past summer. The merging of the SU with the AU has finally arrived. We are now no longer Athletic Union, but the new sport brand "Sport Swansea". Hopefully this will improve the experience we can give to you our members.
The joining process of Sports clubs this year has changed dramatically - You need a brand new sport Swansea membership to join any sports club now - these are available online here. The Sport Swansea membership will give you a transaction number (always useful to keep)and will be automatically added to your student union account. Due to the new SU update, your SU account is now the same as your university account and can be accessed through your university login details. You can now join the club online at your convenience, here.
Our hikes are all day activities and we aim to get back home around 6:00pm. You will need food, water, a waterproof coat and suitable footwear.
One last final thing we have a new email address for you to contact us with, it’s hiking@swansea-union.co.uk .
The hiking committee
The Club has a Facebook Group which any budding Swansea Hiker can join! See you there! Click here to link to the page.
Click here for Rhodri Bevan's Website. It contains lots of photos from previous hikes, including panoramas, as well as route information on many walks. This includes profiles of the hikes as well as gradient information.
