The Lake District

The Lake District (or 'the lakes' for short) is one of the most popular of England and Wales's 14 National Parks. As a club we have traditionally alternated our favourite fabulous longer away trips in the Summer to Snowdonia and the Lake District. It was the turn of the Lakes in 2002, 2004, 2006 and now 2008. Woohoo! By running a four day trip we give ourselves more time for walking, and of course sampling some of the fantastic local brews while we are there.

Walks will probably include Scafell Pike, and Helevellyn, or we may try something less well known, but just as good such as Crinkle Crags, or some of the Langdale Pikes. In the Lakes there is so much to do, that we will certainly not get bored while we are there!!

Highlight

Lake District Summer Trip - Grade C

We often stay in a barn in the Grisedale Forest near Keswick, giving us the chance to investigate many different areas of the Lakes, come along and you can help us decide!
In 2008 our walking included Robinson and Dale Head, Derwentwater, Blencathra, Haystacks and Loweswater.

Photos from our walks are available here
Chris Jones took some fabulous 360 degree panorama pictures in 2006 which are available here
